Advantages And Disadvantages Of Electric Scooters

Feb 05, 2022

Main advantage:

1. Easy to carry: small size and light weight (currently the lightest battery-containing 7kg, may be the lightest means of transportation)

2. Efficient travel: the normal walking speed is 4-5km/h, the speed is 6km/h, the jogging is 7-8km/h, and the scooter can reach 18-255km/h, which is 5 times that of normal walking.

Main disadvantages:

Electric scooters use solid small wheels of about 10 inches. The small size of the tire determines that the pattern of the tire is difficult to make more complicated, and the tire contact area is also small, and the grip is completely different from that of bicycles and cars. In addition, the shock absorption of solid tires is much worse than that of pneumatic tires. Therefore, the following three shortcomings are more prominent:

1. It is easy to slip. When driving on a relatively flat tiled road, be careful when turning, especially if it has just rained and the road is still wet, it is best not to ride on it.

2. The shock absorber is poor. Riding on a sidewalk with deep grooves and a road with more potholes will make it uncomfortable to ride. It is best to experience it in practice.

3. Dragging is unstable. There are always places on the road that are inconvenient to ride, such as shopping malls, subways, and special subway transfer stations. Some transfer stations need to walk for a long time, so you can only push forward.
