What are the common circuit faults of electric vehicles

Feb 10, 2022

1. Power failure

When overhauling the electric vehicle, be sure to confirm whether the power supply is normal. Common problems include broken battery line, loose battery line, oxidation virtual connection; bad battery, low voltage, insufficient power; power switch, such as air switch trip, electric door lock failure, fuse problem.

Solution: If the power failure is caused by the battery line, you can tighten the loose part of the battery. If the line is broken, you can perform welding. If the battery is damaged, the only option is to replace it with a new one. In addition, if the power failure is caused by the failure of the electric door lock, the fuse, etc., it is good to choose a new one.

2. Motor failure

The main reason for the motor failure is that the motor hall is damaged or the motor bearing is damaged. The motor hall failure is generally manifested as the electric vehicle does not go, the starting is weak, the vibration is loud, and the noise is loud. The bad motor bearing is generally manifested as the motor buzzing, the sound is loud, and the motor will be stuck in serious cases.

Solution: If the motor hall is damaged or the motor bearing is damaged and the motor is faulty, you can choose to replace it directly.

3. Controller failure

The most typical is that the push motor has resistance, disconnect the connection with the controller, and the resistance disappears, basically it can be judged that the controller is bad. In addition, the electric vehicle will also show slow speed, shaking at start, weakness, and sometimes no response when the car is driving.

Solution: Due to the importance of the controller, maintenance is generally not recommended, because the controller after repair will not last long, so it is recommended to replace it with a new one.

4. Brake power failure

The main manifestations are that the brake power-off switch is broken, the brake does not return to the car and does not go, and the brake power-off circuit has an open circuit.

Solution: If the power failure caused by the broken brake power-off switch can be solved by grinding the contacts and adjusting the shrapnel, please replace it if it does not work. If there is a power failure caused by the brakes not returning to the car and not walking, the brake pads or brake assembly can be replaced. If there is a power failure caused by an open circuit in the brake power-off circuit, you can choose to replace it with a new one.

In short, no matter which of the four major circuit faults occurs in electric vehicles, they should be solved as soon as possible to avoid causing new problems. Of course, regular maintenance is also crucial, so as to maximize its life.
